End of season….. happily no!

Open All Year!

After another great year in 2014 we are already looking towards 2015 and where we have previously closed for the winter months we are now in a position to stay open all year round.

New Accommodation.

2014 saw us add some new accommodation in the form of our existing Hopper Huts and a new 14ft Yurt both of which proved very popular to our guests this year, the pictures above and below are of the new accommodation.

This year also saw our first compost loo installed with great success.

Compost loos tend initially to cause some worry with thoughts of festival horror stories!

Properly constructed and managed compost loos certainly do not have anything in common with the festival equivalent and have everything to do with a zero impact on the environment. Our loos do not need any chemicals whatsoever, use no water or power other than the solar powered lights inside them which being LED’s use very little energy and are amazingly bright.

Properly used compost loos do not produce any bad odours unlike many portaloos! It is very important to have the correct amount of loos along with informative information in their use and coupled with being thoroughly cleaned everyday, which we do, their introduction has been a great success at the farm and we’ve had a very positive response from our guests.

Live Music At The Farm.

In August we had our first live music evening held at our summer campsite with Fred Clark a local musician who performed covers along with his own material, this was exclusive to all our guests staying at the summer campsite and the glampsite.

This was a great evening and so well received we’ve booked Fred to come back the August Bank Holiday weekend in 2015.

2015 Whats to come?

We have some more improvements to make to both the glampsite and the summer camping field plus maybe one or two ideas so keep an eye out here to see it all as it happens!
